Winter Pals

This week at My Time To Craft we have the theme of Winter Pals, I thought I'd have a go at another easel card, quite like these so I followed the sketch from http://basicgreychallenges/ and used eskimo kisses papers as these papers are so pretty at http://allsortschallenge/. the theme this week is to use buttons....nice easy one and the theme at http://thepinkelephantchallenge/. is to use your favourite colouring medium well that has to be Sakura pens as everything at the moment has been coloured in with them.......just love the glittery and subtle effect you get with them. At http://polkadoodle/. the challenge this week is to use 3 papers and a stamp. Over at http://stampwithfun/. the theme is Christmas as is the challenge at http://pollycraftchallenge/ this week . Weather is to be incorporated into any style of card for the challenge at http://www.craftycalendarchallenge/. so being as this is a snowy scene with falling snow flakes thought I'd enter this one as well......Heres a late entry for http://aspoonfullofsugarchallenge/. they have the challenge of producing a christmas card using non traditional colours....

Chocolate card

Yum yum my kind of challenge at http://lotstodocallenges.blogspot.com/ the theme is favourite chocolate bar...now thats a daft question for a chocoholic but one of my favourites is Turkish Delight so hence the pink/chocolate colours. The ribbons are choccie coloured and crinkled for effect. The torn papers represent tearing into the bar and the sketch that I followed is from http://stampwithfun.blogspot.com/and the theme over at http://quixoticpaperie.blogspot.com/ is tearing

Noel

Yesterday I spent the day at a workshop with the lovely talented  Linda from L.B.Crafts in Olney, I have booked a couple of her workshops..... boy are they hard to get into some, people had queued from 7.30a.m on the day that the classes had been released to book them,  might have to do that myself next year.....like waiting for the Next sale to start ....lol. We spent the day making this fab wall decoration NOEL now on the picture when I booked the class I thought it was small......oh no the photo I have taken is from the floor with me standing up the, design is about 25ins x8ins so we were kept busy all day. The tops of the letters were made in metal and we had to select different moulds for the patterns-----first time doing metal work and it makes your hands ache but well worth it.So I spent a lovely day painting and getting messy......can't wait for the next one.

Close up of one of the letters and the fab background.

Candy cane

Another Tilda crimbo card.... the theme at Colour Create is Green,Red and White and the image for inspiration is a candy cane so hence Tilda carrying a candy cane and the choice in papers, I also added gold holly leaves on the left border to add additional interest, the ribbon is a red one laid on the top of a holly ribbon. The flowers were spritzed with cosmic shimmer and glitter addded for a bit of bling. The sketch I followed was from Charisma and Roses on Paper have the theme romance or Sweet.....I'm going with the sweet thing.

Lili of the Valley

Ohh I,m loving these sweet designs and I'm still loving Sakua pens the challenge with these are the lack of colours so you have to blend a couple together to get different shades....but thats the fun thing challenges for this card are Lili of the valley,Alphabet Challenge this weeks letter is F for Flowers......lovimg flowers

One of my many purchases at the NEC last week was 3 of the new Lily of the Valley stamps this is the first one I've inked up, I think these fairy designs are sooo sweet I love the shabby chic look about them., this is my first easel card, missed the challenge to enter it in (feather brain) never mind I still entered it into the following challenges: Lily of the valley criteria was a recipe of 3 papers,2 stamps and 1 type of embellishment (hope my different flowers count as 1 type),next challlenge is Friday Sketcher, as this was the sketch that I followed,Allsorts have the theme of 'Something for a child' well this is definately has little girl written all over it. Thinking of you

The theme over at Simon Says this week is 'Thinking of You' which you can interperate as a get well, sympathy, etc. So I have painted this Sarah Kay design with cosmic shimmer and twinkling H20's, which I think fits the criteria, the sketch I have followed is from Cottage Pixie. The design I kept simple because I wanted the emphasis to be on the stamped image and not over cluttered with flowers etc.

Thursday 12 November 2009

I have had these pens for a while and just coloured in with them solidly but never used them as a medium for watercolouring, the lady who did the workshop (sorry I forgot her name) was fab she had a great sense of humour and we learnt alot, so now I'm hooked because they are so subtle and shimmer beautiful.

Primary Colours

This card was a smidge difficult to do, in as much that I didn't have that many papers that were primary colours and the theme at 'Cute Card Thursday is to use primary colours. The stamp is a sugar nellie design the papers were from a magazine eons ago, I stitched the paper panel down the centre stitching the ribbon in place as I went. The sketch that I  followed was on Sketch Saturday this was a lovely sketch to follow and I was quite pleased with the overall finish.Over at Allsorts this week the theme is 'Bring out the Bling' and 'One stop' have the theme of a card for kids, and finally Creative Card Crew have tha theme of ribbons and gems.

Went to a craft show yesterday and sold quite a few cards which was encouraging as I was deliberating whether to carry on (for a brief second) but then thought no its too addictive entering all these fab challenges.......I wonder whether we should set up CMA (card makers annonomous) where we can get help with our addiction?? Oh well off to get ready. Have a good week everyone x

Red White and Blue

I followed the sketch from 'Sketch and Stamp', over at 'Winter Wonderland' the theme is Jingle Bells so I added the little bell charm at the bottom and at 'One stop Craft' you have to include text or newspaper as an element so being as both backing papers are text backgrounds this meets the criteria for this challenge
